Today at 09:00 we were suppose to go to Grand Bornard. First with buses and after with cable care to the top. But in the morning sky was fully covered by clouds. Breafing and transportation to the tae off was postponed on 10:30. We went to the take off of previous days. After usual burning in the sun on the take off we got a task of 54 km with zik zak tru the lake and with goal in the north east.
After take off thermals where strong and clouds become big. I even thought we will get thunder storm out of it. Strong climbs where followed by even more strong sink. After start cylinder we went back toward Talloirs and needed to get up on rocs there. I felt it was wery ruff air up there and after making turn point above Alex town I tried to climbe several times but each time I felt its too much so I decided to go to land.

Dziś mieliśmy jechać do Grand Bornard. O 9:00 mięliśmy odjeżdżać żeby dojechać pod wyciąg a potem na górę. Rano niestety niebo pokrywały gęste chmury. Zostaliśmy aż do 10:30 w HQ i pojechaliśmy na to samo startowiso co poprzednie dni. Po zwyczajowym siedzeniu na starcie w skwarze rozłożono konkurencję o długości 54 km z metą daleko na północny. Po starcie warunki poprawiły się i kominy były bardzo mocne. Nawet zaczęłam się obawiać, czy nie będzie z tego burzy, bo chmury wypiętrzały się znacząco. Polecieliśmy na cylinder startowy nad zamkiem nad jeziorem, potem przez „zęby” do miejscowości Alex, dalej nad wioskę za jeziorem i na schronisko na końcu grani Lanfonet i na północ. Po powrocie z cylindra startowego termika była dobra ale od wysokości skał zaczynało się nieciekawie. Turbulencja była na tyle silna, że zrobiłam jeszcze Alex i po paru próbach odpuściłam. 99 osób na mecie, ale wszyscy mówią, ze jest mocno.

We went to the take of pretty early as for the day. It’s stabile again. After long waiting in the sun and hit we have first provisional task of over 70 km, after second alternative task is written on the task board. We analyze bought to finely fly short zik zak task long the Talloirs cliff. I take off good but don’t find climbs. I need to visit lower take off once again. There works bather and after 1 hour of fighting I’m on 2100 m. Now I can start the race. Beginning works very good. But on 3 turn point I make mistake and it cost me a lot of altitude. I’m lower and lower. I hope to get landing under Plan Faet. Unfortunately I hit strong sink and fell to little field on the slope of Talloirs. Just in the middle of roses bush. It take me 2 more hewers to get out of there.

Jak na dzisiaj jedziemy na startowisko bardzo wcześnie. Warunki wyglądają na bardzo stabilne. Po długim czkaniu w słońcu i skwarze na tablicy pojawia się piewsza konkurencja. Zaraz później druga alternatywna. Kiedy mamy obie omówione na tablicy pojawia się trzecia konkurencja zik zak po okolicy. Choć na starcie nic nie wieje staruje dobrze. Niestety nic nie działa i znów musze odwiedzić dolne startowisko. Udaje mi się tam zabrać z ziemi i po godzinnej walce jestem na 2100m i jest to dobra wysokość żeby zacząć wyścig. Na początku idzie mi dobrze, ale na 3 punkcie zwrotnym robie błąd który wyzwala lawinę prowadzącą do tego, że jestem tylko niżej i niżej. W efekcie staram się dolecieć na oficjalne lądowisko przy sklepach. Napotykam na silne duszenie i nie mam już wyboru. Musze lądować na stromej łączce i trafiam centralnie w wielki krzak róży. Kolejne dwie godziny spędzam na wyplątaniu glajta z tych chaszczy.

Today’s task 55 km, with start 12 km away of the take off near Annecy. After that we went back in to take off area need cross the lake. After coming back on our side we went to north again an on final glide. (see map of the task at www.ars-media.org)
In the moment I was getting up from the ground I got big claps and it went to cravat. I needed to fly away of the hill and try to get it out. After whole I was so low that I spand quite a wail to climbe up from there. It went surpriseley good and I was flying with Christian Tamager together. Unfortunately after crossing small valley I hit strong wind and sink a lot again. I visited my favorite lower take off and after that I was able again to get up to the cloud base but I lost a lot of time. It wasn’t problem because start opened in 25 min and I got not far to go. Following others, I crossed to next ridge and got big sink. I hopped I will manage to climbe there, but not. Whole I found was turbulence and strong turbulence. I thought if I get to the front side of this ridge I will be able to soar up there but not. No wind no climbs. I landed exactly on the start cylinder.

Dzisiejsza konkurencja miała długość 55 km. Termika jest dość słaba, więc postanowiono ustalić cylinder startowy 12 km od miejsca startu. (mapa konkurencji www.pwca.org)
Podczas startu, na samej krawędzi góry dostaję spora klapę, ale jest już za późno żeby się zatrzymać. Wylatuję i próbują otworzyć zamkniętą stronę. Okazuje się, że założyło mi krawat. Wylatuję dalej od zbocza i staram się to wyjąć. Tracę na tym większość wysokości, udaje mi się jednak wykręcić i lecę z Tamagerem. Po przeskoku przez dolinkę zaczyna jednak mocno walić. Co i rusz mnie przytyka i znów dołuję. Po obleceniu dolnego startowiska musze znów wykręcić się z krzaków. Startowałam wcześnie więc mam na to czas. Lecę krótszą drogą na cylinder startowy. Większość pilotów wybrała tą drogę. Niestety znowu spłuczka. Próbuję jeszcze przebić się na nawietrzną i nasłoneczną grani, ale tam nie znajduje nic. Ląduje na cylindrze startowym.

Whole night was raining and in the morning we hale sky still covered with clouds. Still it is decided to go up at 11:30. there is chance to have a task on lait afternoon.

Całą noc padało. Rano niebo gęsto pokrywają chmury. Postanowiono jednak wyjechać na górę o 11:30. Jest nadzieja na konkurencję późnym popołudniem..

First day of Paragliding World Cup and the weather is sunny. Yesterday was quite stabil and today similar weather is predicted. After long time on the take of task comity decided for 58 km task. Mostly on Talloirs side of the lace. Because conditions were quite stabil it was decided to have elapsed time. We were tacking off by letters used for selection. My letters aren’t too good as for this event and I needed to wait for long time before I could go in to the air. Finely I was there and tried to get up as fast as possible. Unfortunately sun got covered by clouds and thermals weren’t so strong as on the beginning of the day. I spet long time befor I managed to climbe high enough to start the race. As soon I was high it was easy to fly. I have found nice convergence line and went for 2 and 3 turn point without without thermalin. Sky become covered more and more and pilots started to announce rain on last turn point. After some communications task was cancelled.

Pierwszego dnia zawodów mamy piękne słoneczko. Niestety na zewnątrz doliny wieje ponad 30 km/h i jest dość stabilnie. Okolica jeziora Annecy jest osłonięta od wiatru i możemy latać. Jedziemy na górę i po dłuższym czekaniu komitet pilotów rozkłada konkurencję o długości 58 km. Ze względu na stabilne warunki postanowiono czas indywidualny. Startowisko jest dość małe więc startujemy zgodnie z rankingiem z selekcji na te zawody. Pod uwagę wzięty jest ranking ogólny. Z rankingiem DE startuje dość późno. W tym czasie chmury zasłaniają słońce i spędzam sporo czasu na wygrzebanie się na wysokość, która pozwala mi na rozpoczęcie wyścigu. Kiedy jestem już na górze znajduję ładną linię i oblatuje 2 i 3 punkt zwrotny bez większych problemów. Po pewnym czasie niebo robi się coraz ciemniejsze i piloci zaczynają zgłaszać deszcz na ostatnim punkcie zwrotnym. Po dłuższej dyskusji konkurencja zostaje anulowana. Po lądowaniu ledwo zdążyłam spakować skrzydło kiedy lunęło.

So finely Im going for World Cup. It will be my first one this year so wish me luck. I think it will be one of the most interesting PWC I was paticipating in. Some old legends will be there and a lot of X-Alps guys.

W sobotę rozpoczyna się Paralotniowy Puchar Świata we Francji. Jutro wyruszamy w składzie: Faronek i Łosoś. Zabieramy na pokład także naszego X-Alpowca Filipa Jagłę. Na miejscu bedzie miał szansę spotkać sie z takimi weteranami jak Vincent Sprungli, Coconea, Eichholzer oraz Orzeł z Adelboben Maurer. Zapowiada się ciekawy Puchar i jeszcze ciekawsze spotkania.

Today it was very windy and low Cloud base. We went to Bischling take off. Task comity sated 66 km task with one turn point direction Hohe Tauern, where start cylinder was and than we where supposed to go south and further south and along Enns Valley to the goal. We where waiting first for 1 hour for window open. After they move everything for 15 min. Wind dummy, who was in the air didn’t look like moving forward too fast. It was decided to change for speed run, with 2 hour of open window and 3 km cylinder around turn point over HT, for the start and without going for 400 m cylinder we where supposed to go south. Definitely it was good to take off early. I waited a little too long looking how conditions improve and I finished under the take off. The last thermal was this one I took off in to and after only wind. So I soar up on the ridge and glide to make start cylinder. After there was only sink and I landed on official landing field.
25 pilots where in goal.
The winner of this comp is our dear friend Claudio Virgilio from Portugal. Second for 1 point was Yassen Savov from Bulgaria and third Armin Eder from Austria.

Definitely it will be interesting European Championship next year.

Dziś pogoda nie wyglądała na lotną. Wiał silny wiatr, dochodzący do 56 km/godz. na wysokości 3500 m, a podstawy chmur były niskie. Zawieziono nas na Bischling. Po długim czekaniu rozłożono konkurencje o długości 66 km na godzinę, z pierwszym punktem zwrotnym w kierunku Hoche Tauern, drugim i trzecim na południe od startowisa i później wzdłuż doliny Enns do mety. Po kolejnej godzinie czekania na otwarcie cylindra startowego ogłoszono przesunięcie czasów o 15 min. Później zmieniono konkurencję na czas indywidualny, z oknem startowym otwartym przez 2 godziny. Nie byłam pewna, czy to dobry pomysł w ogóle dziś latać, więc długo zwlekałam ze startem. Niestety za długo. Wystartowałam w ostatni dzisiejszego dnia komin w okolicy startowiska i pozostało mi tylko wyjechać na żaglu. Wiatr był naprawdę mocny. Na punk leciałam maksymalnie z prędkością 13 km/godz. Po zrobieniu startu miałam już tylko duszenie i w efekcie wylądowałam na oficjalnym lądowisku pod startem.
28 osób powiosłowało do mety.
Zwycięzca zawodów został Claudio Virgilio, o jeden punkt za nim Yassen Savov na drugim miejscu i na trzecim Armin Eder.

Myślę, że zapowiadają się interesujące Mistrzostwa Europy.
